Mumbai Games Table Tennis Event

  1. Format:
    1. The table tennis tournament will be played on league + knock out basis.
    2. All the players will be representing their respective zones.
    3. The draws will be based on Seeding obtained from official association of Table Tennis. If there are no or limited seeding, the draws would be done randomly.

  1. Points:
    1. For All Categories -
      1. All the matches till the Pre-Quarters (Including Pre-Quarters) will be of 11 points, best of 5 games.
      2. From Quarter Final onwards, each match will be of 11 points, best of 7 games.
    2. The points will be on Running Score basis i.e. played according to the new rules.
    3. In case of a tie (i.e. 10 points each), the player obtaining 2 consecutive points will be the winner.
    4. All other standard rules of Table tennis apply.
    5. Medals will be awarded only to the 1st 3 positions. Only points for the fourth position will be considered in order to calculate the Team points.
    6. Team Points for each position for ‘Mumbai Games Champions Trophy’ will be awarded in the following way –
        1. Gold – 100 points
        2. Silver – 75 points
        3. Bronze – 50 points
        4. Fourth Place -25 points
  1. Equipments:
    1. Participants will have to get their own TT bats.
    2. TT balls will be provided.
  1. Other Rules:
    1. Players will NOT be allowed to enter the court without an ID proof.
    2. Players should always wear their Mumbai Games BIB.
    3. Players found without the BIBs will be disqualified.
    4. Players have to report at least 60 minutes before the scheduled time.
    5. Players have to register at the Table Tennis registration desk at least 30 min prior to the start of their round.
    6. Tables for Practice or warm up will NOT be available.
    7. Only those players whose matches are scheduled to start immediately should be in the court area.
    8. Players whose matches are NOT scheduled to start immediately should be in the player’s area.
    9. Players have to be in the player’s arena at all point of time.
    10. Audience and supporters are not allowed on the playing area.
    11. Players have to clarify the rules with the court referee before the start of the match.
    12. No abusive language, violence or arguments will be allowed. If found so the player will be disqualified.
    13. In case of dispute, players have to submit a formal written complaint within 15 minutes from the occurrence of the dispute. Referee Decision will be final and binding.
    14. The Referees decision will be final and binding for all matters pertaining to the event/tournament.

NOTE:
SHOES WITH DARK SOLES WILL NOT BE ALLOWED IN THE VENUE. ONLY SHOES WITH GUM SOLES, CANVAS SOLES OR FULL WHITE SOLES WILL BE ALLOWED.
PLAYERS WILL STRICTLY HAVE TO WEAR SPORTS ATTIRE – T-SHIRTS, SHORTS OR TRACK PANTS.
CASUAL TROUSERS LIKE JEANS ETC OR FORMAL DRESSES WILL NOT BE PERMITTED.
RULES AND REGULATIONS ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE. REFEREES AND ORGANIZERS DECISION WILL BE FINAL AND BINDING.
ALL TECHNICAL RULES WILL BE CLARIFIED AT THE EVENT DAY.
